A biteof history

2015

In 2015 we launched our first bread, The Original Protein Bread, and began our journey in the world of Spanish baking.

We soon noticed that customers were increasingly asking for products that were low in carbohydrates, high in protein and even sugar-free, so we decided to create our first range of functional and gourmet foods: Bocado Functional Foods.

Keto diets became popular.
In the market, the winds of change were blowing, and we were taking note of the trends.

80% of consumers acknowledged the importance of recognising the ingredients on product labels.*

In a survey, over 2,000 consumers associated lower sugar content with healthier foods, and less fat and fewer calories with products that help with weight loss.*

They also showed a stronger preference for foods whose main nutrients were protein, fibre and omega-3.
